Ohana Dance Group is hosting a day of Hawaiian culture and healing with Kumu Hula Lawrence Pau on Sunday, February 16th. Lawrence ‘ūniki’d under Kumu Hula Leilani Tang on O’ahu with additional study under Kumu Hula Debbie Ryder (George Na’ope hula lineage). He has been teaching hula for 31 years and in the morning workshop will teach the hula he choreographed to his Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards nominated song, “Hau’ula”. If time permits, Kumu Lawrence may also teach one or two additional hulas.

Kumu Lawrence is also a Lomilomi master and practitioner of Lā’au Lapa’au. He studied under Lomilomi Master Mary Fragas (his aunt) and with Kumu Karen Leialoha Ka’anehe Carroll. He is a Licensed Massage Therapist and holds a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. In the afternoon workshop Kumu Lawrence will share knowledge of Ho’oponopono, Lomilomi ‘Ōpū Huli, Lomilomi Noho and Lā’au Lapa’au including herbs for purification, rejuvenation, and offering.
